Frequently asked questions
How often should my AC unit be serviced?
We recommend a yearly service to prevent breakdowns and maintain efficiency. Extra attention should be paid leading up to the summer months to prevent breakdowns at unwanted times. This goes for central air units and window units alike.
What can I do to keep my AC running smoothly?
Pay attention to the space around your unit. It should have up to two feet of space around it to ensure proper air flow. Trim back foliage and be cautious of falling leaves, dryer vents and lawn mowers as they can be sources of dirt and debris. Properly winterizing outdoor units and storing indoor ones will keep them free from harmful weather and debris.
How often should I replace the filter?
To keep excellent indoor air quality, replace your filter every 30 to 60 days for standard one to three inch filters. If you live alone with no pets, you could extend this up to six months. If you have pets, more frequent replacements will be needed. Multiple pet homes could look at replacing a filter once a month. Be sure to consult with an expert to make sure you install the proper filter for your home and unit.
